And you can't just read the old testament or the new, and not even just the king james version- every biblical book has to be taken into consideration. Just the conflicts between the old and new testaments are hard enough to deal with. I strongly urge you find a new belief system- I did, and while people haggle me about not being certain about what happens when we die, I continue to live my life in a very Christ-like way. Let the pieces fall where they may- if there is an afterlife, how could you ever be positive through all the contradictions of the bible that you would attain it?
