how to play the french horn or horn healthfully?

I was recently told to play the horn in a healthful way, or more specifically "the student can deal with the instrument sensitively"

Ideas?

    Yes, wear a gauze mask while playing. Maybe they mean you need to play the instrument more like a singer. If you sing a tune students usually make it pretty with nice phrasing... then they pick up the instrument and play very mechanical.

    Did they really say "healthful", or is that your interpretation of "sensitively"?
