Can you get pregnant one week after giving birth?
I am a teen mom. Gave birth to my baby girl one week and a day ago. I had absolutely no tearing, my swelling is already down, I have no soreness or anything, and my bleeding has practically stopped. Its ridiculous how well I am doing, and on top of all of that, my daughter is a breeze to take care of. We love her to death, shes wonderful. But yesterday, I had some free time with the father (we are still in a relationship, and doing fine) while the baby was sleeping. We ended up having sex, and neither one of us thought about him finishing in me, since we have been so use to not using condoms or anything throughout my pregnancy. Now I'm scared to death of whether or not I'm going to get pregnant again. I'm so paranoid, I cried so much after we had sex. He keeps telling me not to worry but I can't help it. I called my doctor to make an appointment to get my 3 year birth control as soon as possible, but I'm still worrying myself sick over this. Is it possible to get pregnant ONE WEEK after birth? I have heard you can get pregnant as soon as two weeks, and I have heard people saying they have gotten pregnant a month after birth, but nothing about the first week after giving birth. Help?

Two weeks after giving birth, yes but just one week out its very unlikely.
You probably still have HCG (the pregnancy hormone) in your system. Your body won't start an ovulatory cycle until that HCG is near zero (which can take as little as a week or as much as 5 weeks). Once an ovulatory cycle begins, it then takes approx. 2 weeks for a mature egg to develop.
Furthermore, your milk has very recently come in, so your prolactin levels are surging which can also delay ovulation.
I'm sure you're not pregnant again already, but definitely tell your doctor that you have had unprotected sex. You should not be having sex so soon after birth because your cervix may still be open enough to introduce infection. Also, the prostoglandins in semen do very bad things if it gets into your uterus, and having a very open cervix (such as after giving birth) makes it easy. You're probably OK with that though, because you would have experienced severe cramping almost immediately after sex.
Try to relax, and don't have any more sex until you get the OK at your post-partum doctor's visit.
And congratulations!

It is possible since your hormones are trying to regulate back down to normal which can and will cause you to ovulate very soon after birth unless you are breast feeding in which case it generally will not resume until much later. The best thing you can do is wait two weeks after the day that you had unprotected sex and take a pregnancy test, the only thing you will need to be careful about it trusting the results if it shows up positive since it is likely you still have HCG in your system from the previous pregnancy. If it shows negative you can breath a sigh of relief and get on that birth control ASAP, if it shows positive don't freak out just yet. When you go in for you your check up to see that everything is healing properly confess that you had unprotected sex and would like to have a trans vaginal ultra sound done to see if you are pregnant again since you had a positive test. When you get results your on your own from their no one but you can make that decision on what is best for your family and your health. Good luck and be safe!

Ok, OWWW Who wants to have sex a week after having a baby!! It takes 6 weeks until you can have sex again.
I'm not sure you can pregnant that soon.. but then again, everything in life is possible.
yeah you can but i dont think its very safe.
Most people recommend you wait. Theres alot that needs to heal, in most cases, but you wouldnt be the first to not wait...youre just not giving your body alot of healing time.

It’s common sense: the healthier you are, the more likely you are to get pregnant. Try to do whatever you can to improve your chances of getting pregnant. Learn here https://tr.im/oAJMg
If you are overweight, try to lose some and get to a healthier weight. Eat a healthy, well balanced diet, and exercise as often as possible. Don’t smoke, don’t drink, and of course, don’t do drugs. Try to avoid stressful situations, and keep things as calm as possible. Do whatever you can to keep everything as cool as possible. This will give you the best chance to get pregnant.
