Anyone else's due date in December but want the baby to come early?
I am due a week before Christmas and my husband and I feel that it isn't fair to the baby that his Birthday will be over shadowed by Christmas. Right now I am 32 weeks pregnant. Does anyone think that the doctors will consider letting the baby come early or inducing labor once it's safe enough for the baby to make it on his own?
My first child came naturally on her due date and I am fearing that this one will do the same. I would like to have him at least 1 week early than his due date.

Our baby is Due dec 22nd. At first i wasnt happy about it, as with you i dont want to the occasions to blend together. But after much thought, chances that the baby will come on ur duedate is not likely, most women now days go a little early. Chances are the drs wont let you go early, they prefer them to stay in as long as possible, but its always a good idea to bring it up with your dr and see what they think. But if you do have a christmas baby, just make sure you make it extra special for them, make sure they know whats b-day and whats christmas. B-day parties will be kinda ruined with family and friends usually out of town, but just plan around it. A co-worker of mine is born on christmas, but adopted in the summer, so they would celebrate her "bday" in the summer. Alot of parents come up with good ideas to make the child feel special and you will to. We couldnt be more excieted for our christmas gift this year! Congrats!

Most doctors won't induce until 39 weeks. I am due December 21st and because of back problems (I had surgery for scoliosis 4 years ago) I am being induced at 39 weeks. I definitely am happy that I am having him a little bit farther away from Christmas. I don't want him to feel like his birthday isn't important. I am hoping that I will go into labor naturally closer to 37 weeks. You definitely should talk to your doctor about inducing if that is what you want to do but they most likely won't induce before 39 weeks. You can always try nipple stimulation and pressure points starting around 37 weeks to try and get things moving on your own.

Your doctors won't induce you early unless there is a medical reason to do so. My birthday is on Dec. 28th and I never had an issue with it being so close to Christmas. As long as YOU, the parents, don't let it become an issue - it won't.
But to answer your original question... my baby is due December 6th, but we have a c section scheduled for Nov. 29, so I kinda know what you are talking about.

I'm due on Christmas Eve and at this point I'm actually hoping I go late. I was born in November and people still combine my birthday with Christmas. At least if he's born in January people won't have Christmas on the brain as much. Unfortunately, either side of the spectrum is probably going to suck for the kid =(. I doubt your doctor will allow you to go early to prevent him from having his birthday too close to Christmas though. Induction isn't usually used until you go over your due date as it's dangerous if your body isn't yet ready, and a c section is only recommended for emergencies due to the fact that it's a major surgery.

Just a note for you taxes, but if you have your baby 12/31/2007 or before, you can claim your baby and have a tax deduction for year 2007. Good luck and enjoy your time before your baby comes. I'm enjoying my last couple of weeks because I know I won't be getting that much rest when the baby comes.

If you are 32 weeks, the baby should come on it's own before the Christmas holiday anyway :)
Sounds to me that you are due around early to mid December

I'm due Dec. 4, but I might have a scheduled c-section. I think it would be neat to have a "Thanksgiving baby" :)
Unless there's a medical reason for inducing early, the docs won't do it just because you ask them to.

im due in december, and my name is also brittnei R ..how ironic..
but most doctors will not induce unless their is a problem.
