What is the immigrant population of the UK?

East Europeans seem to make up a lot of the immigrant population, so how many are of these people?

Update:

To the Allbroke guy: I am not complaining or making a point about immigration. My family is of Polish origin, having moved to the UK back in the 50s. I find you more offensive than any other comment in the fact you assume I am making complaint about the immigrant population.

Except for a handful of people in Wales and the north of Scotland, EVERYONE is an immigrant in Britain since 1066, when this land was overrun by the Normans.

So let's stop this pathetic whingeing about immigrants and accept the fact that this island nation has been regularly invaded by waves of different people, most of whom have added to the sum total of culture, intelligence and wealth.

All none EU immigrants make up around 7.5% of the population, (about 5 million+)

EU immigrants total around 2.5-3.5 million (no one is keeping count) the largest is the Poles (anything between 700,000 to 1 million) The other new EU nations also have high numbers 250,000 czechs for example, however their numbers are falling, mainly because of the recession but also because the number limits countries like Germany and France put on them in 2004 have now been lifted

the smaller groups include the French (75,000) Germans (55,000) most other old EU countries i.e Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece between these figures and 150,000 est (Italians)

The number restrictions the UK placed on Bulgaria and Romania lifts next year, so is possible a new wave will start ot arrive

There are around 6 million Brits living and working in the EU, including an estimated 2 million+ in Spain and a further 1.5 - 2 million in France

I would say it is close to 15% of the population putting th level of immigrant population in the region of 11,000,000.

Of course this was encouraged by the previous government, which depended on the immigrant vote to keep it in power.

There are some who refuse to believe this figure, quoting this and that statistic to reinforce their nebulous argument. It is a fact that the police find their hands are tied by red tape and have to turn a blind eye to many abuses of the law regarding illegal immigrants. My brother in-law is a senior police officer and the tales he has to tell would make your hair curl (if it is not already).

To deny truth does not make it less true!

In the real world we can see in our larger cities there is an abundance of non-whites, especially in the East End of London where entire areas have been taken over.

Many cities, Bradford is a prime example, are already islamic and the original native population soon finds itself forced to live elsewhere.

Where I live in Bournemouth this is also taking place, where entire streets have been transformed.

I'm sure the Government has fiddled any figures given, so the true amount is unknown.

Counting the illegal ones, is impossible.
