    Ammonia is a gas that is very soluble in water. Heating the water will cause the ammonia to bubble out.

    Zeolites (can be found at practically any major aquatic pet stores) is normally sold in a container of chunky white particles. The zeolite absorbs any ammonia that it comes in contact with.
