Not sure where your from but last I checked Tony Kart is just an Italian chassis manufacture, and I have no Idea where Easy Kart is from, being from the US I've always liked my Emmicks or Invaders but do have one Italian built Energy and have my eye on a Margay, depending the engine package you use or can afford determines the class it runs in, so in other words you could buy a low end Tony Kart and bolt a top dollar Rotax or HPV on it, or with a few mods bolt a shifter to it but I cant guarantee you wont twist it up like a pretzel. and as far as starting off in a shifter kart, probabaly not a good idea, might want to go to your local tracks and see what classes there running, look into the KT100 or 4 stroke classes to start off in, chances are someone there will have something for sale and help get you started,

I was in your shoes a few months back and wanted a shifter kart soooo badly,I was hlafway saved up and went to the kart track and learned it would be wise to work my way up to shifter karts,I started with a 15hp kt100 and LOVE it,theres lots of competetion in the kt100 class and it is fast enough to kill you depending on gearing you can easily get you kt100 faster then 70mph there one of the cheapest race motors you can buy and there 2 stroke so they scream race me.you wont be dissapointed for the price of a shifter kart i bought both a tonykart kt100 and a energy kart kt100 where me and my gf race togeather =}
start with a tony kart/crg/energy/margay/birel/topkart/sodikart/emick/intrepid/arrow/swiss hutless any of those would be great.

Shifters are a lot of work at first... A tony kart with a Yamaha KT100 or Komet KPV, would be the best for your first couple of years. Also it is best to get a chassis that has support in your area... go to ekartingnews.com for more info.

Shifter karts are considered the top level of karting - not recommended for beginners.

Get the one with the most simplistic function and the cheaper to buy, then go out and learn to drive and move up when you have the skills.
