killer kitty getting birds?

We have a 22 month old male cat and he's getting quite a few birds lately! He has a collar with 3 bells but they don't do the trick. Do you know of any place i can get good collars with plenty of bells attached? Thanks :)

We do keep our cats inside from dusk till dawn

Sometimes they catch birds no matter what you put on the collar. They learn to walk without setting off the bells and then they pounce. I think you might have to accept that a young athletic cat who goes outdoors is going to catch some birds, though maybe not as many as if he didn't have the bells. It's what cats do.

Use a CatBib for your cat. University tested and shown to stop 81% of cats from catching any birds. Audubon recommended. It really works! go to catgoods.com Get a cat bib and start saving birds.

No, but it'd be real easy for you to get some bells from a craft store and sew them all around the collar he's already got with a big upholstery needle, some durable string, and a thimble (also find at the craft store).

    Good luck!

Sometimes, the bells just dont work. Reflective collars are also supposed to be good for warning unsuspecting birds.

One of the weirder things I have seen to control this behaviour (and it is supposed to be really effective) is a cat bib- which mucks up the cat's paw-eye co-ordination, making them inable to catch birds and animals.

attach a buzzer to his colour that can be activated by pushing a button. if you see him about to get a bird (this doesn't work if hes out of eyeshot) press the button. this should warn the birds
