I need your opinion computer problem?

Hi i need some opinions, a year ago i purchased an HP LapTop computer, everything was fine until a month ago.

My battery quit holding a charge so i took it to the repair shop, The service tech installed a new $99.00 battery and a few days later i noticed i still had the same problem . This time i was sold a new power supply for $58.00 took it home and get the message " plug ed in but not charging" when i mouse over the battery icon.

Now i have my computer back in the shop with the tech mumbling about either a bad battery or a problem with the Mother Board, i was told if it is the Mother Board i would be looking at at least $250.00 (:

My laptop works as long as it's plug ed into a wall socket so it its a Mother Board problem...why would the Laptop work on AC power but not DC Power...I need help///

Thanks in advance 10 points for a best answer

Update:

Thanx Ryz that has been my fealing right along and if that is the case i think the dealer should replace the new battery i just bought a month ago.

your battery isn't recharing.... thats all. If your spending that much money on it get a new one it will probs be cheaper in the long run. Also check if your warrenty is still running?

previous a equipment reboot, and dealing a software including CCleaner, i could verify to be sure the memory sticks are all thoroughly seated. additionally verify to be sure if abode windows replace gave you any drivers or software updates that is inflicting this situation.
