Should affluent nations accept more refugees?

We're doing a debate for Monday. The resolution is: "Should affluent nations accept more refugees?" Note I'm talking about actual refugees, not economic migrants or such. What are some points that could be used for the affirmative side, agreeing that they should accept more refugees? If possible, can you please include detailed information along with an article about it? If not it's ok. Thanks!

Just think of as many points to support the resolution as you can, as long as they are clear and relevant.

    Considering that there is few events that actually create true refugees around the World, why does it matter and wouldn't it be better to fix the cause instead of creating refugees?
