Craziest thing you've ever heard a 'fundie' Christian say?

Anything from the Phelps group, Pat Robertson, Falwell (though dead, his quotes live on)... pretty much any "conservative" christian televangelist who claims to "know" ANY god or anything about any god....

Personal faves are:

"Satan planted those fossils to confuse people into not believing in god"

"Pagans worship Satan - they know this, they just don't want to admit it"

"Atheists/Pagans/Non-Christians, deep down, KNOW our god exists"

Basically any generalization that has been taken from BS propaganda from leaders like Phelps, Robertson, the Catholic Church (though they did more of this during the Inquisitions)... they just repeat what a "leader" has said as if god came down himself and told them.

I'm just glad those type of people are becoming the minority.

It's not a quotation, but I remember visiting a Fundamentalist church and sitting through an absolutely horrifying sermon in which a pastor advocated beating infants. If babies cry, then a demon is making them tell lies. If you pick up a crying child and the child isn't truly in danger, then the baby was lying and needs a whipping. I was nearly crying myself when that sermon was done out of compassion for the children entrusted to such monsters. I saw several parents hit their children at that service. I strongly support religious tolerance as long as people's beliefs aren't harming anyone, but these beliefs were plainly harmful and dangerous.

I had to point out to him that Newton also believed in alchemy and Einstein didn't accept quantum mechanics. It didn't change his asinine argument at all, they all seem to be completely devoid of any personal research into subjects that they already have pre-conceived ideas about.

I find the ones who say the King James Version of the Bible is "divinely inspired" and the only legitimate English Translation to use are a bit crazy.

Why is this the DUMBEST? Well, because they have no understanding of the word prayer or the types of prayer. --- Look up Latria, Dulia, & Hyperdulia....

i think what really gets me is how they hatefully tell others they must believe in a gawd...and how much they love that gawd..but how much they be hatin sinners(actual beings)
