Should we stop releasing prisoners on license?
Clearly if a paedophile is free from prison he (or, being PC, she) will commit child rape or something else vile; all violent criminals will be a risk to the public. Absconding will cost the public and put us at risk.

We should release non violent drug offenders and end the drug war. Its time to treat addiction like the mental illness it is.

No. Still most of them have it better inside than we do but hey! What the heck? At the least they can only harm each other in there. When released a lot of them do go on to harm innocent people. So what do we do with our MPs and Lords in our government? They have nearly all proved to be of the same ilk as our felons in our prisons. They really should be in there with their peers but instead they are in government letting their associates out into the public with us. What a shame.

Yes we should stop this practice. If someone is given a sentence to serve, they should serve the whole of that sentence in prison, preferably in solitary confinement with childrens books to read and no television or access to other prisoners.
Good behaviour would be rewarded by the prisoner only having to serve their sentence, whereas bad behaviour would result in an extension of sentence.

should we ever say never? the idea that people cannot change is rather bleak, and I think the story goes on to say that 99% of licensed prisoners follow the rules,
if prison was properly rehabilitating then most criminals should be safe to release, if the probation service was properly funded then there would be fewer problems

How about we execute absconders if or when caught?
How about we execute all those responsible for a wrongful conviction?
How about we execute anybody who makes a mistake?
