What size diapers do you need the most of?
Was gonna start stocking up before baby comes but I was wondering which size do you use the most of?
Thanks for all your help and Serious replies. Cute stories are also welcome.

My advice is if u stock up save receipts. Its hard to say what you will need most of. My some was early and wore premie diapers for about a month and NB for only like a week I had started to buy extra of those and had to take a bunch back. I would wait until the baby is around. Just my opinion tho. Def save receipts tho. I go threw a big box of diapers every week to week and a half. He is 4 months old. Hope I helped!

Well newborns go through 7-8 diaper changings per day. So stock up on those to last for about first 2 weeks. After that invest in Size 1 as baby will grow rapidly and the ones that hospital uses will be tight and uncomfortable. After that purchase diapers according to his/her weight. Depending on how fast your baby gains weight and how the thigh circumference is, Size 2-3 will be your friend for the next year or two. Size 4 will be used by about 15 months.

As tempting as it may be to stock up - my suggestion is don't. You never know what diaper will work the best (sometimes kids have allergic reactions to various brands - we just had a problem with a particular diaper and had to get rid of the partial package) You also never know when they will need the next size - it varies so much for each child. My first could never fit into a NB diaper, and cruised through the sizes til he reached a four. Then my third one wore NB for two months, Stage 1 for like a week, and Stage 2 was the same, now in stage three forever! If you do stock up make sure you don't open everything and keep the receipts so you can go trade them in for a different brand/size if necessary.

I strongly advise that you don't stock up on diapers. I say this because you never really know how long they are gonna last in that particular size.
My son when he was first born wore NB for about a week and a half and then we had to move him to size 1 and he is now 9 weeks old but he is slowly but surely moving up to size 2 here soon.
If you Absolutely want to stock up then I would say buy a box of 92 NB and get about 3 or 4 boxes of 242 size 1.
Those should last you a good while.

The newborn size you will need about 10 a day, but only for a couple weeks. Size 1 you won't need as many a day, size 2 even less.
Size 3 you will only do maybe 5 diaper changes a day, but baby will be in them for about 6 months. Your baby will go through sizes 0, 1 and 2 in the first 5 months, then will wear size 3 from about 6 months to 1 year.
How long the baby is size newborn, 1 and 2 depends on the size of the baby. But newborn is only until 10 pounds, so most babies are out of them in 6 weeks, then out of size 1 by 3 months, then out of size 2 by 6 months.
Generally you change the baby every feeding, and newborns eat about 10 times day (about 12 for breastfeeding, 8 for formula). But by 3 months it goes down to only 4-8 feeds a day.

I would buy maybe 2 or 3 packs of sz 1, then a couple of sz 2 and sz 3. Ask for diapers at your baby shower as well and make sure they give you gift receipts so you can exchange them for a different size if you need to. You won't know how long you will need certain sizes until you see how big your little one is. My oldest was 8lbs 13oz at birth and was in a size 2 by week 3. My youngest was 7lbs 12oz and in sz 1 for a month or two, then to sz 2. Make sure you keep the receipts for the diapers you buy as well, most stores are awesome about letting you swap sizes if you have the receipt :)

It honestly depends on the baby. I can only speak from experience and it feels like we have been in size 3 for the longest. Our baby is breastfed and I've read and currently experiencing that breastfed babies grow faster in the first 3 months then level off for a bit becoming longer rather than putting more weight around the middle which is about the time I noticed that I've purchased lots of size 3 diapers.

My son is 4 months old and is in size 3. Thankfully all the diapers she reacted to he doesn't seem to react to, so we've got a stockpile that he can use. :P Literally something like 300 diapers that I was going to donate but he's not reacting to any of them, so... we'll use them.
My daughter is almost 3 and is in size 4 barely, she can still fit in size 3. Someone gave us size 5s at my babyshower... I ended up giving them to my nephew because there's no way she was ever going to fit in them and they came over one time with no diapers for him. Oy.
I would say that the size 1-2's are handy to have, but it seems like size 3 has been the lifeblood of my kids now for a while. Don't get bigger though. Maybe you'll have a chunk-a-monk and he'll go into size 6 by age 3. Or maybe you'll have a little slit of a thing like my daughter (in the 2-3% for girls her age...) who MIGHT get into size 4 before she's potty trained. It seems like anything larger than 3 is a bit of a crap-shoot as far as whether you'll use them or not.
But also keep in mind the stocking up... like I said every diaper we tried on my daughter she reacted to. Up&Up, White Cloud, Pampers, and even Huggies if they got a little tight or if she was having a sensitive day. So if you stock up, and you find that they cause your child to have a case of the hives... then what?

be careful with that because you don't know what size your baby is or how fast it will grow.
A couple of my grand sons never did wear newborn size; both weighed in at 10 pounds plus. They shot through the size 1's and in a week or so were in size 2.
IF your child is a fast grower, you will end up with half packages of different sizes and the money is gone.
A better idea is take that money you would spend on diapers and stick it in a jar and call it the diaper fund fund.
Another thing that might happen is what if your child reacts badly to the brand of diaper you chose?
About half of my grand kids couldn't wear Huggies at all.
A few of them couldn't wear Pampers.
It happens.

i suggest that you dont over stock on any one size too much my kids all grew out of thiers at diffrent times and where in diffrent sizes for diffrent amounts of time.......if you havent had a baby shower yet have a diaper raffle where each guest brings you a pack of diapers and in exchange they get a raffle ticket for a cool door prize, I did this for my sister in law and she got tons of diapers, she actually ended up with several size ones that she took back to walmart and exchanged for size 2's
If i were you i would at least have 3 or 4 packs of size 1 and that should be enough for the first month if they are each about 60ct packages
