Unless it's scientifically proven, then it doesn't count. I heard that a scientist claimed that men were smarter than women, but I'm pretty sure it was bias. Where sexism comes from isn't so much "scientific" facts, but more of the roles men and women played in the past. Men were always the warriors, the hunters, and the ones that were encouraged to go to school. A lot has changed for our generation in the past 50 years or so. Not so long ago were white males the only ones encouraged to go to school. No one really cared whether or not women or minority races went to school. So, I think that's where the whole "men are smarter" thing came from. Things are certainly changing. For instance, now women are more independent and strong, things seem more even. On a similar note, we went from the whole "Children should be seen and not heard" thing to, well, whatever we have going on now. But to answer your question, no, no it does not. People shouldn't devalue people for their race or gender because in the end, we're all people.

There are no big deals of course. We don't devalue women to be honest. People I have known (guys of cos) have only started devaluing women when women does the same to us. And we don't go round telling we are smarter than women so we demean you. No, we only show you what we contributed to the world thats all. Like a man with lower IQ can contribute more than a woman with higher IQ if you get what I mean. I am very certain there are existing housewives who have higher IQ than warren buffett and george soros.

No, it doesn't. Many studies have shown that, in this country, whites are "smarter" than blacks. Does that give whites the right to devalue blacks? No. There is no real way to prove who is smarter. For example, maybe those white people received better educations than their black counterparts. The same is true for men vs. women. Statistically, males receive more attention in the classroom, are held to higher standards by their parents, etc. which makes them more likely to be "smarter".

Some are some aren't Although studies have shown that men are more advanced at certain tasks and vice versa. Even if this wasn't the case it gives no right to devalue someone else

Nope, it doesn't. Also, men are smarter on average, barely (if an IQ test counts as an accurate measure of intelligence). And since this is an average, there are many women who are smarter than many men. So, such devaluation would be pointless.
There is always a man and a woman smarter than you unless you're a freaking genius.

im a guy and i wouldnt say that lol. One women could be smarter than a guy in a iq, but another guy could be smarter than her in iq.

I think you spend too much time on yahoo questions :)
It is not like all questions would have answers, you make your own judgemental call. I guess this yahoo questions become your discussion board something.
