Is the depiction of God in Disney's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" accurate?

Just wondering...

Assuming that you've seen the movie at least once, we know that it is the Catholic God depicted in the movie because the Virgin Mary is used in place of Jesus.

The bad guy of the movie, who is a Catholic inquisitor, tries to do his job of getting rid of non-Catholic gypsies. Throughout the movie, he believes that Satan is tempting him and he goes mad. In the climax of the moive, he is hurdled into a molten lake as an ironic twist that God would "smite the wicked".

I say ironic because in the Bible, God said that those who practice magic (the gypsies) are the real bad guys and that the inquisitor doing his job is the good guy. Also in the Bible the slaying of God's enemies (no matter how innocent) is justified and sometimes rewarded by God.

Comparing God in the movie to His real Biblical counterpart, is this an accurate depiction of Him, or not?

youve got it wrong, the interpretation of God is accurate, though your interpretation of the movie isnt. the whole point of the movie was that the "righteous" man wasnt righteous at all, he was actually the wicked one so in the end it was him who was cast into the flames, while the true good and innocent people lived. The guy might have called himself a Catholic, but he certainly didnt act like one, no true Christian would burn a house full of innocent children. they say in the movie, when describing Frollo, "he saw corruption, everywhere, except within" showing that it was actually him who was corrupt and sinful, he just pointed blame on everyone else. when he was trying to burn the Esmerelda, he wasnt trying to slay Gods enemies, he wanted to have sex with her, as shown in the song "hellfire" but she refused. In the Bible, Gods enemies who are slayed are never "innocent" and its almost never a man who kills them. though he pretended he was good and he thought he was good, he was actually wicked so he was punished while the ones who were innocent and pure were saved.

Most of the Disney movies take the gist of the story and maybe a few of the definitive scenes. But, everything else is "artistic license."

I wasn't aware that God made an appearance in that movie.
