What do the British think of Americans, and what do Americans think of British.?

I'm British and i love americans XD

Some of the different ways of saying things like Trousers/Pants, Mobile/Cell phone, Tourch/Flashlight sometimes gets on my nerves but hey its different ways of saying things.

Also when your using some american software and they dont recognise how we spell things like Colour/Color but again its different

Americans do have accents to us, but i guess we have accents to them, and as for the language it is English but altered, i mean English is a cross of loads of different words from different languages because of its extensive history

I love american history, although that could be because theres A LOT less than british but its interesting

I am only answering to highlight the incredible arrogance (in typical American style) you are showing by suggesting that Americans do not have accents. Almost as if you are the default or the norm?

That is idiotic. Everyone has an accent. The idea that a person cannot have an accent is absurd. The very idea of a person not having an accent is impossible to imagine.

Incidentally, the word "arrogance" in this post also sums up what many people think of Americans.

I feel that, as a generalization, Americans are lazy (lots of litter, among other reasons) and have destroyed the English language with their version of pronouncing things. But, they seem to be very good debating and fighting.

And yes, you have butchered our language. It is NOT an American English,that's call an ACCENT. But you didn't take an accent to it, the majority of your pronunciations are way off base. And yes again, most of you ARE lazy. But this is what I mean by the good at debating part. Remember, this is a GENERALIZATION and might not be anything like you are.

No, it is NOT a modified language, it's you saying the words WRONG. If you want modified languages, look at how Latin turned into French and Spanish. Similar, but completely different. Can Americans have tried that in 230 some years they've been around?

If you're going to try to say it's not just an accent, than maybe Americans can stop saying that we do? Same logic.

well im english, entire family, but i grew up in america. The English (they hate it so much when you hear an english accent and call it a british accent if you heard a scottish accent you would call it scottish so okay) See americans as people who cant really speak english, arrogant at times, really only they mean bush. Well amercans see an english accent as sexy, and seductive, believe me, i have one... but many children think they are enemies since they are brainwahed with american history for years. The English dont like the education here either, american history untill your puking it, and no other history until practically high school. But they are acknowleged as smart, have you seen our colleges, but then again, have you seen theirs?! Anyway, from an english american, i hope this helps i reccomend visiting some time, stay in Cornwall the countryside, and out of birmingham! My rental car got stolen twice over there. maybe a bit of wales and scottland, nice places, and if you really want to go to a city, go to London, but be careful, and it is super exoensive, hope this helps

I guess the British hate Americans, but the ironic thing is that Americans are the only ones in the world who kind of like the British, and that's only because our ancestors are from Britain.

i will like a American who heard my accent and called it a English accent. because if u heard a Scottish accent youd call it Scottish right. well have some respect my nation too
