How should I train on a treadmill for my first Half Marathon?

I am more of a sprinter and short distance runner than distance so I'm looking for some help on increasing my distance running on a treadmill.

How often should I do interval training during the week and at what speeds and lengths of time?

Thanks to anyone who can help me :-)

I'd suggest at least getting outside to run every once in a while.

You need to find a training plan.

Hal Higdon has some 1/2 Marathon training plans on his website. You can pick the one that you think you can handle.

If you are going to do the bulk of your training on the treadmill I would recommend putting the incline on 1 or 2, and adding a mile to the distances in your training plan.

of direction you may. i'm a treadmill runner and do all my marathon training on treadmill. i'm a great believer in training with treadmills. First, treadmills supply you complete administration of your velocity interior the touch of your hand, helping you to benefit to p.c.. your self. Secondly, they are plenty gentler on your knees than outdoors working, and you're much less probable to get injured. as nicely, that's superb to run in a cooler climate interior the wellbeing club than outdoor Dubai. many of the treatmills will require you to have an incline of a few million degree to simulate outdoors run. on the different hand, increasing incline greater advantageous than that could desire to help with construction your quad capability. that's extremely sensible once you're working in a hilly race. the only problem is that treadmill many times does not decline below flat point, so it does not help you prepare for the downhill run. Treadmills additionally are great in helping you prepare for swifter time. increasing and then reducing the cost in a bell curve shape will help you strengthen your velocity. commence at a decrease p.c.., slowly strengthen your velocity to above your optimum velocity, then gently decline to diminish velocity could help you grow to be a swifter runner without making you drained out too today. additionally, distinctive treadmill has coronary heart cost computer screen function. by ability of monitoring your coronary heart cost, you would be waiting to be sure the optimum coronary heart cost so you might maintain the optimum cruising p.c... In a race, you desire to benefit to realize that optimum coronary heart cost, which supply you the terrific performance - a mix of a stable velocity on the longest era. Treadmill will instruct you to benefit to p.c.. your self at that cost to realize that coronary heart cost.

No it isn't OK. Pain is your body's way of telling you something is wrong. If you ignore it it will just speak up.
