Do you believe everything your Religion tells you?

I was raised Christian and I do not believe everything Bible and those that preach it tell me. Currently I am Agnostic, but I find this to be an interesting question. Especially after observing the questions asked by Little Angel.

    No.

Dump "religion" and become a follower of Jesus. How? Confess your sins to God, truly sorry from your heart and simply ask His forgiveness. He will, completely. Then turn from them proving your repentance is real. Trust that Jesus’ death on the cross took the punishment your sins deserved. All who do will receive eternal life and be empowered by the Holy Spirit to do what He commands. Why delay?

    Read how the Bible says to be right with God, Matthew 4:17; Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; Romans 2:4-5; Romans 3:23-24; James 2:10; Hebrews 9:27; 1 John 1:8-9; Romans 5:8; Romans 10:9-10; Romans 10:13; Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 5:21; 1 Peter 2:24; 1 Peter 3:18; John 3:36; 1 John 5:11-13

Think about this for a second: What if your religion is wrong? What if your religious book is wrong?

This does not mean that God doesn't exist. You do not need to follow a religion to believe in God. He can exist outside religion and scripture.

The problem with being brought up into a religion is that you don't get the chance to find God yourself and deciding which if any religion is right for you. So maybe you should unlearn what you have been taught and find God your own way. I have had to do exactly that to some degree.

Good question. Yes, I believe everything the Bible tells me. But who preaches it is another story. We are called as Christians to hold one another accountable. If there is doubt in my mind - I open my Bible and I see what God tells me and line it up with what is being preached. If they don't coincide then there is a problem and you are not being led by a man of God. This will be the real test for many as the end of days proceed. Many will be misled. Many will rely on a man to lead them to God instead of opening their Bibles to learn the Word and letting God convict their heart.

The "Bible" does not lie to us but religion can. Some are teaching the lie but not knowing they are. Many like to brag about how qualified they are but consider this:

Matthew 11:25 At that time Jesus said in response: "I publicly praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and intellectual ones and have revealed them to babes.

Don't blame the Bible because of religion. :)

I believe what the Bible tells me. I have a relationship with Jesus Christ, not a religion.

I don't believe everything my religion has taught me.

I don't believe everything I read in the "Bible".

    I don't believe everything I DO believe....LOL

A person should never believe everything they are taught by anybody.

Always question things and figure things out for yourself.

But... if someone hands you a lit stick of dynamite then throw it away first before questioning why it was handed to you.

i believe interior the Bible as absolute fact, and while somebody tells me something, i attempt to ensure that with Scripture. If, as an occasion, I have been Catholic, even then i does not pray to the virgin Mary, in view that's no longer supported via the Bible, even even with the shown fact that my faith and church leaders could help it.

My religion is very, very old; older than yours. Our practices were based on the environment at the time. When they no longer serve a function, I feel it is ok to discard them. Only you can decide what feels right to you. If it brings you closer to G-d, then it is a good belief/practice. If it separates you from G-d and becomes a chore or drudgery, then it has lost its purpose.

I don't have a religion. I have a relationship with Christ. And yes, I believe everything he told me.

My religion (Christianity) doesn't tell me anything; God does. I have plenty of good reasons to believe Him.
