How Much Will John Boehner Be Paid During His Weekly Lobbyist Meetings When He Becomes Speaker?

Nemo almost has it right. Politicians routinely are elected rich and leave DC richer. Nearly everyone on Capitol Hill is a corporate whore or bankster. The "government of the people, by the peolple" is nothing more than a sentimental memory. We live in a plutocracy. People who vote democrat wish they could purge the corporate whores of their party and can't. People who vote republican love their corporate whores. Main reason I'm an independent.

Politicians routinely are elected poor and retire rich. Republicans, Democrats, Communists, Nazis and Libertarians - there are darn few with any real grasp of ethics. Boehner's scam is hardly the worst.

How about the politicians that make sure these wonderful community organizations get a line of funding? Who could argue with that? Except that then they have friends who run those "charities" and those friends make sure that the politician's law firm gets plenty of business, or his friend's financial services company (on whose board of directors he sits) gets the contract to manage the charity's finances?

This kind of twisted, crooked behavior happens all the time. They are all grabbing as much money as they can as fast as they can and their justification is that everyone else is doing it.

I was wondering how Nancy Pelosi had 7 million when she got into DC, now she has around 21 MILLION.

John will get paid the same as he always did 174k.

Nancy must have had some investments she helped gain profits being she had so much power and regulated businesses she didn't like!

Not enough to pick up the expenses of just one of Nancy P. trips to the coast....

Did you know that all politicians meet with lobbyists? Did you know that lobbies are groups of people which represent the interests of other, larger groups of people? If lobbyists from MADD meet with Boehner, will you throw them under the bus, too?

Don't worry, I don't blame you. I know that they don't teach this stuff in Jr. High....

He's meeting with Obama cabinet? You know.. Obama the president who promised to get rid of lobbyists.. but ended up having more of them in positions of authority than any other president in US history.

So.. what's Obama's cabinet doing? Are they going traitor on Barry?

At least he took his trips on money other than tax payer dollars. Cant say the same for nancy and her G5 jet
