They're asking for the odds, not the probability.

    P(selling) = 0.3

    P(not selling) = 0.7

    Odds against selling a car today are (7 to 3) or (7 : 3)

Meaning that we expect the event will not to occur 7 times for every 3 times it does occur.

A probability is always between 0 and 1. Zero describes the probability of something that cannot happen, and a probability of 1 is a sure thing. In your case, if the probability of selling the car is 30 percent, then not selling the car would be 70 percent, or 1 - 0.30 = 0.70.

    Hope this helps.

    Good luck!
