How does Genesis 1:26 and Genesis 3:21 prove that both god's mentioned were equal in status?

Genesis 1:

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Genesis 3:

21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them. 22 And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.”

Update:

The Legend of Re and Isis

The chapter of the divine (or, mighty) god, who created himself, who made the heavens and the earth, and the breath of life, and fire, and the gods, and men, and beasts, and cattle, and reptiles, and the fowl of the air, and the fish, who is the king of men and gods, [who existeth] in one form, [to whom] periods of one hundred and twenty years are as single years, whose names by reason of their multitude are unknowable, for [even] the gods know them not. god, who created himself, who made the heavens and the earth:

Behold, the goddess Isis lived in the form of a woman, who had the knowledge of words [of power]. Her heart turned away in disgust from the millions of men, and she chose for herself the the millions of the gods, but esteemed more highly the millions of the spirits. Was it not possible to become even as was Ra in heaven and upon earth, and to make [herself] mistress of the earth, and a [mighty] goddess - thus she meditated in her hear

Update 2:

Update 3:

@Bluevariable....exactly...mankind has been duped by god's and godesses since the dawn of recorded time.....gullible is not the word.

Believe me I was deceived for many years.

Update 4:

@Amelia...you just confirmed my convictions even further....once again a Christian condemns then summons up the Devil as the deceiver...could not possibly be man deceiving man....no that is just too unimaginable. Yeah.

    WOW!!! I love reading the answers here on R&S just to see how christians come up with their cuckoo responses. Not only do they personally know a God exists and that this God made the Universe, but they also know he has 3 forms a la some Hindu christian version of Ram and Shiva. It is mind boggling the number of Christians who seem to have intimate personal conversations with this God and can relate back to YA verbatim, the multitude of different statements which this God has not only made to them all, but also provided detailed explanations, for what he means by those comments, no doubt for dumb idiots like me who cannot get a peep or whisper out of him. We really live in close confines with some pretty messed up mental cases walking around our societies pretending that having conversations with an imaginary God in their heads is normal and not some whacked out form of mental instability. In a time-line accepted by even Christian scholars, Genesis was written thousands of years after the story it portrays is supposed to have happened, yet the story reads like a first person retelling of a conversation between the author and this God, as if he were actually there with a tape recorder capturing every word spoken by this God. How badly does a Christian want to live forever and ever, in a fairy place like Heaven, that he will warp, and contort his mind, to wrap it around this kind of fantasy, to keep the dream of living eternally, alive? Genesis reads like the ramblings of someone living in a fog of ignorance, and incomprehension, and searching, creative, invention of the reasons and causes for all that he saw and felt in existence around him, most of which he was in raw fear of, none of which he could explain. That ignorant, benighted mind's flight into a fantastic world to seek explanations is understandable, but the continuing belief now, in this era, in the same feeble explanatory straws from thousands of years ago, in stories written in, and about a past darkened by a lack of knowledge and information, is absolutely incomprehensible. I am truly embarassed as a member of this species, at the ability of some of my fellow humans, to be so greedy and desperate for eternal life that they continue to hold up this fantastical, senseless system as their raison d'etre. Were it not for the gorgeous, sexy, beautiful woman in my life, making it worthwhile to exist just for her, I may have lost all hope and checked out already.

    As science learns more and more, we now believe in the myths of stone age starving goat herders less and less. Ya know, The Bible is the most influential book ever written, and yet folks like you have no idea where it came from. There are two ways to study the Bible.... 1. devotional, where you pick out sweet, cute little phrases and live by those, (This is what you are doing) or 2. get down to the nitty gritty, and find out where this stuff all really came from. I do the latter. The inconsistencies of the OT are legion, and contradictory. Adam and Eve is older than the Tribe of Israel.....it is a Babylonian Myth and from Sumer as well. From this post, you have never read the entire thing. Darwin wasn't wrong, hon. It is amazing he got so much of evolution correct....we didn't have DNA then, nor did he even know about HOX genes. Amazingly, he had no idea of the work of Mendel, even tho Mendel's work preceeded his own first book. (And if you are a product of public education here in the US, where most folks with those degrees don't teach, but get jobs in science, how very sad for you..... you have been cheated of what Europe already knows. You either now have to get that science education on your own, or remain forever ignorant.....and as an adult, continue to believe in children's bible stories..... I hope you opt for the former.) How sad you don't really know just how amazing the Bible really is, and how it came together, and what is likely true, and what it likely fairytale and folk lore. If you did, you'd have far more respect of this book, and its history.

    Where do you get the idea that there are two God's. God the Father was speaking to God the Son.

    John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

    2 The same was in the beginning with God.

    @Bluevariable. Your words sound so intriguing and so poetic yet there is no justice or love. You are embarrased by your "fellow humans" so you dismiss our beliefs as nonsense? You should be embarrased by your own smugness. Do you enjoy looking down on us? God has chosen the meek and beggarly elements of the world to confound the wise. What do you know of God? That's right....nothing. And you Mr. danman have been hardened by one bad experience. It is too bad that you would throw God away because you made the mistake of getting caught up in a false doctrine. He has warned us many times over concerning wolves. You obviously have been duped not once but twice. The second time by the same enemy that got you in the first one.

    I don't know if you are a christian so I will try to be respectful with my answer. These two Bible texts describe the relationship of the Holy Trinity, before Jesus had come to Earth as a human being. See he says our, and one of us? He never really mentions that it's 2, it's in fact a plural. And considering it is described as a Holy Trinity one can only assume God was talking with his 2 other forms. Now, the trinity is something really hard to understand without wanting to call shenanigans on it but a man once told me something that made me understand this concept, even though I'm agnostic. He said to understand the Holy Trinity one must compare it with water. Water can be solid (ice), liquid, and gas and still be Water. In that way, God can be Jesus, The Holy Spirit and the Father and still be one person. You can also compare it to the three parts of an egg, there are three parts, but it is still an egg. So by what I have told you, one can only assume that God talked to his 2 other forms, and considering it is still him, they were of equal status.

    I hope I explained without offending, and I hope you understood.

    This idea is redundant. The stories are contradictive only because one is the (J) source and the other is the (E) source. Do research on the JDEP 4 Source, and read a book by. Richard Elliot Friedman called "Who Wrote the Bible". It will give you great understanding of the reason behind the Old Testament's two themed stories.

    The jews who wrote the books of the OT were polytheistic and had many gods and goddesses until the tribes merged and Yahweh was made the "top dog" Until then, they had, as Jeremiah aptly put it.....as many gods as they had towns.

    You have as many gods as you have towns, O Judah; and the altars you have set up to burn incense to that shameful god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.' Jeremiah 11:13

    The tree of life is a representation of the goddess Asherah, which is another indication of their polytheism.

    We can obviously understand that bible is not original one..There are a lot of bibles already.Author:bla bla bla you are taking another bible and different bible

    As if you are reading novel.

    If I want to read novel,I go to the bookstore,and buy one.

    Please be objective and think about it?

    Why are old testiment and new testiment obviously different?

    How can god be in a human form?Is not it an insult to the God?look at this please

    Allah(God) says that:

    1. Say: He is Allah the One and Only;

    2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute;

    3. He begetteth, not nor is He begotten;

    4. And there is none like unto Him.

    Which one is logical?

    Christians are just imagining charming extraordinarily things in the world.

    However we muslims think about there is science in the world,SCIENCE means Allah's rules on the universe

    Such as=Newton's laws like F=ma or Einstein's Relativity E=m*c^2 or whatever.All they are Allah's rules and universe works according to these rules!

    Please be rational and approach this objectively.

    The same book says that Adam & Eve populated the world, even though they had no one else to mate with. You will lose this battle as intellect is not on your side. You must rely on a book of ancient beliefs. .

    There is only one God, and He is community; made up of three persons. Adam had been made in the image of God, as community, but now he had become like one (as in only one . . . a separated, isolated individual) of them. He was no longer one with Eve and their descendants, and no longer suitable to be made one with God.
