I will explain to you MY day at MEPS...
First, drove up there with the recruiter arrived at the actual station at 5 pm and took the ASVAB. I finished the ASVAB 3 hours before the shuttle was scheduled to arrive so I was told to sit in a waiting room. I was joined by another person that had just finished his test and was going to the same branch as I so i hung out with him. About 30 minutes passed and a recruiter just happened to be going by the hotel to drop off his recruit so he offered us rides and we got to the hotel at about 7 pm.
Second, I went and checked into the hotel and went and put my luggage in my room. When I first got there, there was already about 15-20 Recruits/Shippers that were in the military lounge. I found my room mate talked to him then went to the restaurant hotel for dinner (they give you a meal ticket for dinner and breakfast). I ordered a cheeseburger because it was a reliable meal and it turned out to be one of the best I've ever eaten. The Hotel I went too had computers hooked up with internet as well as an Xbox 360 and a PS3 as well as a DVD player playing The Hurtlocker. So there was a lot to do. I went and met different people and made some pretty cool friends throughout all the branches even though I'd only know them for a day. I watched the video and around 10ish i tried to sleep, but it didnt work so I just sat around the hotel and chilled all night.
Then, I went back up to my room at around 0200 after getting spanked by some shippers in CoD and being offered like 30 beers lol (DON'T ACCEPT ANY ALCOHOL no matter how old you rae if your going to MEPS for your physical). I got back to my room and watched some TV then At around 0330 I woke my room mate up and told him to start getting ready. I went and took a shower and packed my bags and waited for them to start serving breakfast. At 4 am sharp they opened the restaurant doors for breakfast and it was a buffet style French toast breakfast. Then at around 0430 the shuttles arrived and we loaded onto them. And we got to MEPS at about 0445.
Next, upon arrival to MEPS we all filed out the shuttles into the station where we were all shoved into a very small room and told to give up any weapons we may have and not to put our feet up on the couches. We went through metal detectors and if you haven't had your picture taken for a MEPS tag(like a barcode) you'll get that now. Then we all sat in the couches and they started to give us orientation that lasted about 5 mins and it was all about how to behave. Then the people going to enlist and reenlist were brought into another orientation room where we were told exactly what we would be doing.
At around 0600 orientation was over and we were told to begin the process. This is where it gets boring. You get rushed from place to place having to fill out forms EXACTLY right or else you'd have to redo it all. From there we went to take height/weight. Then that was followed by eyes, hearing, and giving blood. The piss test was after all of that and really isn't that embarrassing. Then you go into a Docs office where you get the works done to you by a doctor. Then everyone gets undressed down to their undies and are grouped up where you stand in front of a doctor and do the duck walk ETC... Once you finish with that all you have to do is get your forms finished and viola your done. I ended up eating lunch at about noon, but its different for everyone.
Lastly, after eating lunch you report back to your branch of services office and you sit there and wait to speak to a career counselor (this is where it gets boring!). Everyone in the Navy's office seemed to be slow as hell so it sucked. I waited about 6 hours before I even spoke to anybody about my job and the only person I talked to was my recruiter because he was able to get me the exact job I asked for so I was happy. Then I went and did the initial swearing in and was told that I could leave. So my recruiter got everyone that came with me and we left
I didn't add this in before, but periodically throughout your day you will be asked these different questioners about if you did drugs or broke bones and stuff like that. It's annoying after a bit...
Overall MEPS is a lot of waiting and repetition. It's the worse part about the military no matter what branch or job you're going in to. I would recommend even though they may tell you not too, but bring some snacks or something to eat because candy bars and things are about $3 for just a Snickers. Also bring an ipod music to listen to is a fantastic time passer, and some quarters as well the MEPS I was at had an arcade room so I shot some pool while I was waiting.
Good Luck and don't be nervous about MEPS its not scary... just long...!
They only examine your *** with their eyes...

There you go. Yes, they check your anus. It's to see if you have hemorrhoids or if you have anything else abnormal down there. They won't stick their finger in unless you're 40 or older and getting an over-40 physical. Expect a lot of waiting.

You're over-thinking it. You pretty much summed up everything that will be going on. And for the "butt finger" question, you'll find out yourself ;)

When I went to MEPS they didn't do an anus check.
