It sounds like you might have. If you push it in far enough (isn't that far actually) than you probably did break it. That actually happened to me. It does hurt so don't worry that's all it was. That's one of those things that tends to happen easily. Especially when you try to put in a tampon.

There is a slight possibility that you broke your hymen, but you were probably too nervous. Your vagina is made up of muscles and nerves, and when you're nervous, the muscles are tight and clenched. When inserting or removing a tampon you have to relax all the muscles "down there" so that you can do your thing. Try taking a deep breath before you insert it next time, and it hopefully won't be so bad.

    Best of luck!

depending on how strong your hymen you could have broken it or just torn it.

Some people's hymens are easy to break, that horse riding can do it. Some other people have stronger hymens and even tampons don't break it, they just stretch it or tear it.

if you continue having problems see a doctor

No, I don't think you did. You may have just had the angle wrong or you're just not used to tampons yet. Try sitting on the toilet when you put it in or putting one foot up on the edge of a bathtub.

    Good luck!(:
