I really only use it on this site and I primarily use it to refer to dance pop/Top 40 music. I accept the broader definition you used for your list which covers basically anything but in the context of this site that definition is not very helpful especially as many people who ask questions here are not familiar with it. In real life conversation, I much prefer to use specific bands to describe sounds I like.

My favorite pop artists are mostly crap from the 80s but also classic pre-rock and roll pop stars like Frank Sinatra who should definitely get a spot somewhere on your list. Also Linda Ronstadt.
