What is a great birthday gift for a 2 year old boy?

My nephew is about to turn 2, and I don't know what to get him! He has an older sister, so toys have been passed down to him, plus between my family and my sister in law's family, he has a TON of aunts/uncles, etc that will be buying gifts for him. With Christmas around the corner, I know he'll be getting even more toys. What is a great idea for a 2 year old, that he won't likely be getting for someone else?

Not sure how much you want to spend but here are some options:

*Washable paints with brushes, large coloring books or large blank pad of paper

*Ball pit with extra balls (about $50 bucks or so)

*A toy box (even if he has one another could easily be used!)

*Bath toys (foam letters, bath paints, basket ball goal)

    *Pretend grill

*Age appropriate board games like the fishing game (can't remember exact name)

*Gift card to Build a Bear

*Remote control car or thomas the train

    *Sit and Spin

    *Work bench

*He is about to start potty training - favorite character undies

1 Step Indulge your inner child: What would you have liked to have to play with at two? A multicolored tricycle? That big red wagon? A complete plastic cooking set? 2 Step Wander through a store, online or real, and pick the most compelling item. 3 Step Ask for help: Talk to friends and relatives, and to really jump-start your search, ask the little boy's parents what gift might be just right. 4 Step Consider clothing, but always buy older sizes so he won't outgrow those green corduroy overalls too soon. 5 Step Remember that money, in the form of a savings bond or gift certificate, is always a useful gift. 6 Step Buy books. Even though he's not reading yet, he's probably into touching, feeling, and turning those pages. 7 Step Check that whatever you settle on is age-appropriate and toddler-safe.

I would say something Thomas the train or Cars as most boys love those. Also, there is a fun game called, "Ele-fun" that kids love! My daughter got it when she was 2 and loves it. It is an elephant whose head blows air out. You put these butterflies in his head then attach the top. He has like a long thing on top that the butterflies go up and then fly out the top (about 3 feet in the air). It comes with 4 nets and the kids have to run around and catch the butterflies as they fall back down. They love it.

The game is like $15-20 at Walmart. It is also annoying for us adults b/c we have to keep putting the butterflies back in and restarting it, so it's kind of funny if you want to mess with the parents. :)

Books are always a great gift.

A BIG truck or car or something with a "motor".

    A push mower.

A tricycle or big wheel (I would ask his parents first, they may want to buy this).

    A backpack.

    Art supplies.
