Which Butter do you use...?
everyday use like on your toast and veggies? Do you use the salted or unsalted ? Is there a big difference in the taste? Trying to cut out some of the salt in my diet and have been told that butter has a lot of unnecessary salt. I can not use margarine because of the soybean oil so I almost have to use butter. thanks for your input.

while sea salt may have trace minerals that regular salt does not have, it is as salty and effects the body the exact same way as plain old cheap table salt.
If you are trying to cut down on salt, sea salt will not accomplish that.
I use salted butter because I prefer the flavor.
I do not use canned soups, gravy mixes, cold cuts or each bagged salty snacks because that is where you REALLY get the salt from.
A bit of salted butter in the grand scheme of things is minor unless you are on a 2gm low sodium diet for particular health reasons( renal failure etc)

Hi Grandmabird, I tend to use salted butter for everyday use and unsalted for baking or cooking as you can always add but you cannot remove. The butter in salt not only acts as a flavouring agent, it also preserves the butter. So if you are not using a great deal of butter it will last that bit longer than unsalted. I hope this helps, all the best. Rab

I usually use Hotel Bar sweet, unsalted butter
salted butter does taste different... it's just saltier
but use sea salt! it's a lot better for you

Unsalted is what I buy. I bake a lot, having sweet butter is important. Buy it on sale and freeze it. I keep at least 10 lbs in the freezer. Buying when it's on sale.

I usually use margarine. But I'm sure there are some organic types of butter. If were you I would go the Trader Joes.

I usually use Organic Valley butter because the cows are not factory-farmed, the farms are family-owned and the use of antibiotics and such is minimal while the use of bovine growth hormone is nonexistant.
I use sea salt instead of table salt because it is much healthier.
