Has anyone ever found an empty egg?

I work on a farm that keeps rare breed cattle and pigs. We also have some chickens that run free round the yard and surrounding fields, these chickens get a supplement of whole wheat and whole oats to add to what they forage (so no crazy chicken feed here).

The other day we found an egg that seems complete (no breaks in the shell) but weighs much less than it should, it balances as though there is just a bit of filling (cant tell what without breaking it) stuck to the side near the pointy end.

I will clean it off soon and candle it to get a better idea if there are any sneaky cracks and what may be inside.

But, has anyone ever come across an unbroken empty egg?

Never, but then I've only had eggs from the store. I have gotten double yolk eggs though.
