I want to know what political class I belong to whether it be democrat, republican or neither?

Like most Americans, you are a liberal (Democrat) because you believe in the fundamental values of a democracy. However, you are conservative (Republican) because you believe that you shouldn't be obligated to those who have less than you. Only you can decide which of those competing obligations means more to you as a human.

I support welfare as well...only temporary...not permanent as the liberals do. I feel as though permanent welfare destroys people and culture (American Indian as an example...the western kind...I am part Wampanoag...that's east coast). I believe in equal opportunity for all...not equal outcomes. The whole homosexual lifestyle is wrong...I am a Christian. Christians do not saw heads off. I support civil unions as well but reject any attempts at normalizing the lifestyle. I am also a combat veteran. I support don't ask don't tell. I do not support abortion at all...however, there are compelling instances when I suspect my opinion could be changed on a case-by-case basis.

There are those that would put me at far right wing. I don't think you are as far right; but we can see each other from where you are.

Independent. Your views are with Repubs/Cons on some issues and with Dems/Libs on other. So i would class you as Independent.
