Can you explain me what is the meaning of these words in Bible?

Lk.11.52. Woe to you lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You yourself did not enter and you hindered those who are entering. What is that "key of knowledge" Jesus is speaking here?

Jesus said these words to Pharisees, scribes and lawyers because they were more concentrating on physical things like washing hands before dinner, not to eat few things etc.

Jesus said that they make clean the outside of the cup but their inward part is full of ravening and wickedness (he was talking about spiritual things).

They hid the spiritual meaning of word of god and were teaching all the physical things to men. Especially Jesus very well knew that only these Pharisees, scribes and lawyers would not accept him as son of god and kill him.

Thus he said in Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! For ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Here it is in the Jerusalem Bible: “Alas for you lawyers who have taken away the key of knowledge! You have not gone in yourselves, and have prevented others going in who wanted to.” (Luke 11:52, JB)

‘Prevented others from going in’ where? Jesus tells us at Matthew 23:13: “Alas for you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You who shut up the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces, neither going in yourselves nor allowing others to go in who want to.” (JB) The Jewish clergy closed the door on many, as it were, by robbing them of the opportunity to be with Jesus Christ in heaven. The “key” was the key to divinely provided knowledge.

The experts on the Law are duty-bound to explain God’s Word to the people, unlocking its meaning. But they fail to do this and even take away from the people the opportunity to understand.

Jesus is talking to the false teachers who have hidden the truth of God in rules and did not seek God but made themselves an obstacle for those that actually were.

The key of knowledge is the scriptures, the Bible, which allows a person to seek God.

The phrase 'key of knowledge' referes to the 'correct interpretation of knowledge'

This was but one of six woes Jesus brought down on the religious lawyers' heads. The setting was that Jesus had been invited by a Pharisee to eat with him and did so. But at the table, this Pharisee found fault with Jesus for not washing before the meal, according to Pharisaical ceremonial regulations. Those rituals had been added to the law. They were never there in God's system of regulations! So Jesus let rip with a list of stinging rebukes against such legalistic offenses. You quote the final one.

The very persons who should have opened the people's minds concerning the law actually obscured their meaning. They added to it with their own (and faulty) interpretations which were based on their warped theology. Matthew's account puts it as, "you shut the kingdom of heaven in men's faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let those enter who are trying to." (Mat. 23:13) They kept people ignorant of God's way of salvation.

The key that unlocks the real meaning of God's law was sitting there, talking to those Pharisees - the promised Messiah. As it stated in the law in Deuteronomy 18:18, "I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers; I will put my words in his mouth and he will tell them everything I command him. If anyone does not listen to my words that the prophet speaks in my name, I myself will call him to account."

Jesus was calling those hypocrites to account, to their very faces. If those religious lawyers had understood God's word, they would have recognised who it was dining with them and they would have followed Him. As it was, they were preventing people following Christ into the kingdom. They had thrown away the key to the kingdom by their arrogant additions to, and twisted interpretations of God's law and God's word. They had tried to make entry into God's kingdom conditional on a system of works and law keeping which utterly defeated the whole point of the law. It was designed to humble people into realising they could never, ever, keep God's perfect law. Instead of making that perfect law more difficult, those lawyers should have been breaking it down for people to understand their need to humble themselves and seek God's freely available grace. But Jesus caused grace to meet with God's wrath on the cross and the result was pure love - something those religious leaders knew nothing about.
