Is Mason a male name?
I am thinking of naming my baby girl Mason, but people are saying that this name is for males. Can it be used for both male and female?

Mason is a boys name. You could do something like Maddison which could be Maddy for short.

No, Mason is a masculine name and a bad boys name at that. I it horrid on a girl; not unique but trashy.

Not only does it very clearly have a "-SON" element, it makes people think of a stonemason or brickmason, which are both masculine professions so it's not a very glamorous name for a girl. But would Madison be too different for you? It's got a similar sound but doesn't have the sweaty hard-work connotations!

it's more commonly used as a male name, but it can be a female name as well.. If I were you I'd probably give her a more feminine middle name to help balance it out.
