Due to the earthquake and tsunami back in 2004 Our day did get longer by 2 seconds due to the tsunami. That is why daylight savings time starts earlier and goes longer. The dam in china as well as everything on Earth is moving at the same speed as the Earth aside from walking, driving and such the dam will have no effect on the rotation of the Earth. It would take an asteroid strike to change that.

LOL!!! LD your mind is a marvel to me. Nothing will make the rapture happen, it isn't mentioned in the Bible, just a way far out there religious teaching. Remember the old saying, "man proposes, God disposes" so nothing can make God's will for the earth and those on it change. He created the universe, do you really thing a measly little old dam will stop him?

Unfortunately, the actual laws of physics (as opposed to the bastardised version obviously taught to the author of the article) say that damming rivers will not slow the Earth's rotation.

Thus the search for other "earths," but "warp drive" is still the stuff of science fiction, yet to be invented, and we are still limited to this earth.
