1 cm dilated and 50 percent effaced at 31 weeks, stories of encouragement?
Any moms, midwives, doctors out there who can give me good news? I'm on bed rest now, just wondering how long I can stay at this measurement.
This is my first baby. :-)

You can stay like that for a very long time, probably not 9 weeks, but on bed rest, ESPECIALLY on bed rest if you stay down then you can stay at that for a while, if this is your first probably longer than a 2nd time mom. You really only need 4 or 5 more weeks and then the baby can be born and be in really good shape, so STAY down.

From very own adventure, i grow to be 4cm dilated, 70% effaced for 4 weeks in the past I had my son. I even lost mucous for 2 weeks in the past, and had my membranes stripped 5 days in the past I went into exertions. I even grow to be having contractions on and rancid for each week, 5-7 minutes aside that lasted for as much as eight hours each so often. So there is not any way in telling.
