Do you think Humanity will last?

Escalating warfare, disease, environmental pollution. Politics that seem to worry about fluff issues versus substance. People like Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, and Al Sharpton being public figures who are actually listened to. Actors making more money than scientists. Starvation.

People like to think about survival, but I try to take an objective look, and I cannot see us lasting.

What do you think? Try to be objective and real. Thanks.

barring any major natural disaster (asteroids anyone?) I do think that our offspring will last. But I don't think that we will last in the same way we are now.

I do think that wars, starvation, and disease will change humanity. I believe that population will go down, and humans will eventually bottleneck. We are (relatively) quickly using up our resources, so new adaptations will have to be made.

I do think that 1000 years down the road, there will be something here that could trace it's roots back to humans.. but I don't think that if we went 1000 years into the future, that we would recognize those new creatures as being in any way related to us.

    I hope that made sense.
