    Purchase.

    After the addition:

If you are using a reward card, this is an excellent way to earn points. Some reward card users have been lobbying to pay their mortgages with their credit cards to earn points, as well.

I would imagine most insurers should and will take credit card payments. I think I have only ever paid far car insurance with a credit card myself. RE: can you pay car insurance with a credit card? in a few months I'd like to know from someone that knows for sure, rather than a guess. -Thanks

It's most definitely a purchase. It's always advisable to compare rates you're being charged if spreading your insurance premium for 10- 12months with the rate you'll be charged on your credit card.

If the rate on your CC is less then go for it and vice versa.

i did this recently ins co wanted £600 and 15% if i spread over 12 months so put it on 0% card and paid off as and when i could as a purchase NOT cash advance

Purchase. Bad idea unless you absolutely had to and are CERTAIN you will pay it off soon. Otherwise it will sit there and gather interest.

Only the credit card company can tell you that - it depends on how the company looks at the transaction.

Purcahse, since there is no transfer from another card.
