They do not have legal permanent residency until they have completed two years of a four-year college or two years in the military.

Like others have said the dream act is no more. It failed for its last time and wouldn't manage to resurface for at least another 4 years with any chance of passing.

However IF it did pass earlier (which it didn't) no you would not be eligible to apply for the dream act to stay your risk of being deported, promise to fullfill one of the 2 obligations. Then marry a UC Citizen to bypass it. You'd still be under contract to fullfill one of those 2 promises. If you failed to even being married you'd be deported. You could then file for a spousal visa but would likely be turned down as an undersirable at that point.

Of course if it did pass I'm sure the supporters would have tried to put forth extra legislation to increase it and give ways around. To bad for them... it failed! woot!

The Dream Act is not an Act at all, it is a bill that has been killed about 8 times now. Apparently you didn't see the news today.

Americans are happy to say that it did not pass. So marriage to a citizen will not help any illegal.

The Dream bill has come and gone. It does not exist any more

No. The Nightmare Act is dead. There is nothing illegal aliens can do but return to their own country. If they marry, they still have to return to their own country!
