GE Refrigerator leaking water from bottom of freezer door.?
I have a GE brand refrigerator/ freezer (side-by-side) that is approximately 6 years old. I now have a problem with water leaking through the bottom of the freezer door. There is an ice dispenser and water dispenser in the door of the freezer. I turned off the water two weeks ago but water still runs from the bottom of the door. This water doesn't leak constantly but only once or twice a day. I will find approximately a half cup of water on the floor. I know this is where the leak is coming from because I observed the water dripping. It's not running from anywhere else. Does anyone know what might be causing this leak and what repairs I need to make?
Thanks!

defrost drain clogged, open freezer and pull out bottom crisper "if you can" its probably frozen with ice, once you get it out, you have got to defrost the ice out of drain tube, when unit is defrosting water drips off evaparator into drain pan then into drain line then pan under refrig, where it evaparates, the reason you see it twice a day is because unit defrost every 8-10 hours

I have a GE Monogram built-in side by side, about 7-8 yrs old. It has started to drip in the back, behind the icemaker. Getting iced up along the left wall and down the long light fixture. Where do I look to defrost it? Can't pull it out. Also for about a month or so I have been getting a whistle sound after I close the freezer door. I have been constantly checking the temperature for almost a week now and it is running warm...up almost to 10 degrees sometimes, hard getting it to stay 0-2 degrees. Help!

Steves diagnosis is spot on. There is something in your drain tube. If you able and/or willing, take the back panel off refrigerator (cardboard piece) and find drain tube. Its behind compressor and wraps around ending in drain pan. Remove it and clean it out. Back flow usually works. Look on YouTube to help find what your looking for.

Steve F, thank you for the solution. I had the same situation, followed your instructions and it worked. One other tip I would add is that if the tube still won't drain, gently insert a short length of something pliable through the drain tube; I used a piece of string from a string trimmer down the tube to clear any possible blockage. Mine had part of a popsicle wrapper down in the hole. Flushed it with warm water and now draining nicely. Thanks again.
