Can my brother be recruited into the Marines/?

So my brother said some recruiter is obsessed with getting him in and basically has convinced him he won't have a life unless he joins since he did not graduate highschool. He is bipolar and color blind and he told me he is already in. He said he's working as a pulley? Not sure what that means? Anyone know if this is allowed the recruiter even tries to convince him when he's drunk which I think is insane. Anyone have any documents which prove if he cannot be recruited I think it would not be a good thing for my brother as he has had some drug dependency and depression from Bipolar in the past.

Update:

Thanks people I think he's definitely lying then, i'm just not sure why the recruiter is trying to get him, maybe my brother did not disclose the bipolar thing, he said they have accepted him but just this morning he said the recruiter is trying to get him ( I think he was also drunk this morning) Good to know this means he cannot get in I'm assuming maybe it will motivate him to get his GED then I assume they will not let him in due to the Bi Polar thing? My other sister lies a lot also starting to wonder why these two do this?

Well as a high school drop out, he could get a GED and a waiver to get in. As having bipolar disorder I would have to say that is a huge no way, no how. Also I have served 4 years int he marine corps, and although this was 23 years ago I have never heard of anyone working as a pulley. I would have to say your brother is lying through his tooth.

A non-graduate cannot be recruited into any branch of service, unless they get a GED and 15 college credits. A bipolar person isn't going to be recruited, either. If your brother told his recruiter the truth, the recruiter would politely tell him the facts then the conversation would be over. If he lied, he may have been invited to poolie functions, but eventually the truth will out. Your brother needs to come clean and find a more realistic path for his life. If he's drinking a lot, he's self-medicating, and that never ends well. Might be time to get the meds re-evaluated.

Bipolar is an automatic disqualification from all branches of the military... if he has lied abotu it and they find out he will not only receive a dishonerable discharge but may be prosecuted...

Unless he also has 15 credits of collegel level classes - no military service will even talk to him. And being bi-polar is an absoulte disqualification from military service.

I agree - either he is lying or you are.

if he said he is a poole (not pulley) then that means that he's signed and already has his leave date for boot camp. Poolee just means he is now waiting. Although since he is bipolar i dont think they would take him...

If he's bipolar, he would not have been accepted. If he's a high school drop out, he would not have been accepted.

Either he's lying or you are.
