Why do the same people get all the help?
Hope this is the rite category for this.
I would like to know why all the same people get all the help from the goverment? Mostly people who are just living off the system.
For example I work a full time job have no health ins. Have not even had a pap smear in over 10 yrs. But yet we have people who are younger then me and nothing wrong with them and they have full coverage and run to the Dr. for everything Why is there health more important then mine? If a working persons health isn't important enough to have the "Rite to ins." then why do they get it?
Another thing all the food pantry's are screaming for donations. But yet they only help the ones who are on welfare. Everytime the food bank comes to my town the same people are there. And guess what it's the people who already get hundreds of dollars per month in foodstamps. They already get free food why do they need more? But yet us working people who can't get foodstamps and can't go to a gas station and buy pop and chips can't go to a foodbank either cause we make to much.
I don't get it these people get everything handed to them. Free food, free medical, free transportation, free heat, and low cost rent and now some of the apartments give them free internet.
I am beginning to wish that instead of getting a job at the age of 16 I should have just sat on my butt and had kids.
Dear Jane
In my job I do see this first hand. people go to the Dr. to get pain pills then get on the phone to sell them. In my line of work I work with people on welfare and they are the people who I am talking about. They claim to have no transportation so they get a free ride and then there cars are in better shape then mine. I don't need to look up facts someplace I work and live it every single day.
A.F. Mad yes jealousy has nothing to do with this. I do not know where you are from but where I live there are no free pap smears unless once again you fall under the guidelines. and the only people who do are the ones who already get a medical card. Like you said most food banks go by income and again if you work you make to much. the ones who fall under are the ones who are getting food stamps.
how would you feel if you were paying out of pocket 20 thousand dollars for a gall bladder surgery and yet you were hauling around people who are bragging about going to a pain Dr just to sell there pills? Or you are trying to use left overs for dinner 3 nites per week after you and your spouse get home from work. yet someone next to you is bragging that they get 900 dollars per month food stamps. for 2 adults and 3 young kids. With that kind of money I could stock my freezer for a long time. So Yes I am very mad. But not jealous.

Corporate welfare sucks up far, far more of government assistance than people who need government assistance (see links below).
You make a lot of general statements, but you offer no data to prove your points. Offer concrete statistics that most people receiving WIC assistance, or food stamps, or help from a food pantry, or medicare, are not appropriate to receive such -- not just observations, not something you heard on Fox, but real, verifiable data. Don't make judgments based on what you might see in line at the super market.

I understand what you are saying however this is not fully accurate. Yes there are people who abuse the system to the extent that the system allows it, yes there are people who should be entitled to help and from lack of knowledge, pride, independence, whatever do not get it, and yes people who can work should and do usually support themselves. However much you work with situations there are some thongs that you are not seeing. For example food help is generally income based - some agencies like our ministry give help to anyone who asks the first time but responsible agencies do verify the facts especially on repeat visits. Help is often given for the sake of the children whether or not someone likes how adults manage their lives. There are also a few places that give free bread of a free meal or other food to anyone who comes to a service or meeting. This is not a lot different than free hot dogs to the first 100 customers etc that a lot of businesses do to try to draw a crowd and you would be as welcome as anyone else.
Most health facilities also very carefully verify need as do other help places including section 8 and public housing. If you know of specific instances of fraud report them. Some health services - including pap smears and birth control - are available free in most places at least once or twice a year. Ask your health department. As to right to insurance that was a political decision and the best place to deal with that is by political action (start by contacting congress person and senator and writing letters to the editor). Just because one sees someone drive a vehicle does not mean they own it. It may belong to a friend or extended family member. Or they may have a car that is not working or may not have gas money. Years ago at the brokest part of my life I drove a caddy because a friend let use it so I could go to work when my old rambler decided to break down.
It sounds as if you are frustrated but also jealous.

I am on welfare, and in Australia - I get nothing except a lousy $160.00 to live off a week. Thats after the rent has been paid. I never have a bill totally paid before that same bill comes around 3 months later. Christmas has had to be cancelled, no funds for a decent christmas meal, no money for gifts, so I simply cancelled it.
I have gone into my local employment agency, once again to face another unknown staff member (the 7th one I have had in the past 4mths), who ensure me that "we must change the way you think". Bullsh*t - I am a grown woman - and will NOT AND WILL NEVER bow down to some 20 something year old, telling me the government needs to change the way I think. I told her a thing or two, and she immediately knew that she had absolutely put her foot in her mouth. And she tried to back track.
So I told her that I had finished with her, and that I would take my leave. And that was that.
They work for us, not the other way round.

Every as soon as in a at the same time there are questions that want exceptional solutions. Like a pair this night. What to appear for whilst purchasing a Great Dane and are they well pets to have. I have revel in in that field, so I would positioned my slant at the reply to that question. I do agree that there are a few questions that get requested again and again. We have got to do not forget that the humans asking the questions won't have visible prior solutions, so they do not know.

Sometimes people lie to get help; it is a fact of the welfare system. I admire you for not doing this. There is help available; try local agencies; in our small community we have a free health clinic, free dentist, food pantry, domestic abuse shelter, and homeless shelter...and we have fewer than 15000 people.
Hope this helps.
