Please advise, bright red vigina, sore and itchy.?
For the past few days now i have had a red, itchy vagina. I had a look at it today for the first time and it's red outside the vagina and bright red inside the vagina also. There is a white thick discharge and on my clit i gently moved the skin back and its red and there is alot of white discharge on the clit also. I have not had sex since the 6 dec and today my boyfriend and i did and i noticed that i bleed alittle. I put the bleeding down to the fact that i have not had sex for a very long time.
But can someone advise me as to what this could be please. I am presently on antibiotics for a chest infection, so can someone still have thrush while on antibiotics?

it sounds like a bad case of thrush. you need to see your gp. just in case it's something more severe. it isn't advisable to have sex when having problems with your vagina.

sounds like thrush - can buy stuff to treat it in any supermarket or chemist. if that doesnt work get doc to have look but antibiotics have the side affect of causing thrush, it'll prob say that on the leaflet

Antibiotics can CAUSE thrush!! Get to the chemist and ask for Diflucan One (or the generic equivulent which is much cheaper)

This is not a question ti ask on here, I doubt any of the people who answered are doctors or took the time to do the research. I'm not trying to be mean when I said that. But this is the kind of thing you go to the doctor for even though it's intrusive and not fun, you really should go because what you think it is might be completely wrong and it could turn into something bad. I hope I helped :)

it sounds like thrush, and antibiotics are notorious at having the side effect of thrush, as they kill the necessary bacteria found in the vaginal area too, if you are on the pill, they affect that too, so use other birth control like condoms whilst on it, also your boyfriend can get thrush from you too, so you'll both need treatment. There are various creams/internal medications that can be bought over the counter, due to my medications, thrush occurs quite regularly with me, I wash in 'Lactacyd', it's a soap-free feminine wash, smells lovely too, and I use 'Vagisil' which helps a lot with itching. wear cotton undies, not nylon, or a skirt indoors with none, more air to circulate, take care, and I hope you feel better soon x

I agree with the other answers. You have a yeast infection and need to go to the doctor. It won't get better. I had one so bad one time I had to lie on my back with my legs spread out. Sooooo painful.
