Is GPS Marketing Solutions Ltd a scam?

Small Businesses Beware

I have received an SCAM invoice for £299 booked 17/12/2010 due 24 December 2010 a with cover letter dated 21 December 2010 together and Advert Proof dated 16/12/2010.

The cover letter was as follows:

Thank you for your kid support in the Community Care Magazine.

Without your support these projects would not continue and the relevant information would not be available. Booklets will be distributed throughout your local area. Please feel free to contact us if there is anywhere you feel the booklets would be a benefit

Please find enclosed your artwork proof, along with your invoice.

Yours faithfully,

The Accounts Team

GPS Marketing Solutions Ltd.

The information at the foot of the page is GPS Marketing Solutions Ltd. Company Reg No. 7334786 – 802, 26 The Hornet, Chichester, West Sussex PO19 7BB

Telephone: 0845 490 0039 – Email: info@gpsmarketingsolutions.co.uk

They also provided Bank Account 6340 700 Sort Code 01-10-01 with the invoice for BACS or CHAPS payment offering a 10% discount for payment before the due date.

I had placed and paid for an advert with ‘inexcess.tv’ Carers Community Magazine which has not yet gone to print & may be another scam?

It sure sounds like it, and if in doubt don't deal.

Never heard of them but I would NEVER send personal details or accept any sort of position from a company that has no information available about them. Not only would a legitimate company have a website and be listed in directory assistance, but would also show up in plenty of other hits in a Google Search If I can't get info about the company upfront I'd never send any CV
