How to treat a numb/tingling foot?
Last Monday I fell and landed on my left foot. For the first three days it hurt really bad, but I woke up the other morning and half of my foot went completely numb. The whole right side of my left foot is numb from where the arch starts down, except for the big toe. I hurt the top and side of my ankle where it bends, and if I touch that spot or my shoe hits it in a certain way, it makes the numb part of my foot even bigger and it tingles more!
I guess it has something to do with the nerves, but is there anything I can do other than ice it and take ibuprofen? It's been numb for four days now.

Is there any swelling in the area where you hurt you ankle? If there is, the numbness and tingling may go away once the swelling goes down. If this is the case, use the ice packs and raise your ankle above the level of your heart. If there is no swelling, then you need to go see a doc. The nerve may be just irritated. There is a anti inflammatory cream on the market - requires a prescription that gets the medication directly to the area it is needed and does a better job than oral medications. If that doesn't work, then you're into seeing a neurologist to see if they can find the problem and fix it. There are medications that will block the tingling, but nothing for the numbness. Good luck! Oh and it is your right to ask for a certain medication if the doc does not suggest it!

Noooooo, my feet are kinda ticklish so I would not be able to relax at all. Now a head massage on the other hand - THAT would be relaxing :) Foot massage or chocolate = chocolate :)
