what fitness zone should my heart rate be in?
I'm not very active, but I walk a lot since I often miss the bus and end up walking for 20 minutes to get it. I recently joined a gym and I was researching target heart rates. Mine is around 140-170 and the page said that I should remain around 60% to lose fat which is a heart rate of around 99. I can go much higher than that very easily. Should i still try to stay around 99?

The general rule of thumb ie: subtract your age from 220- this is your maximum heart rate. A workout should be 60 to 70% of this. So, if one is thirty, then 220-30=190. 70% of 190 is 133. This means that one should be between 130 and 140 for MOST of the work out. A few minutes of revving the engine to
max is occasionally a good idea. Do not push it. Let your workout habits gradually develop. A 20 min. walk at 3 mph burns about 100 calories. This is good. To lose fate- one must do a bit more progressive resistance than cardio. Eat well. Cut out the pop, candy, etc.Drink distilled water, eat fruits and vegetables and learn to relax because anxiety and stress shuts down the metabolism and you can end up storing fat.
