  • what can I do with a Comparative Literature major and a Biology minor?

I'm trying to figure out my course schedule and my options are double majoring in Comparative Literature and Biology, majoring in Comp.Lit. and minoring in Biology, or majoring in Com.Lit. and getting a BA in Science in a year-long program after graduating. I have a full scholarship, so I'm trying to make the most of it, but I don't know which I should do. Which one would guarantee me a reasonably well paying job with the option to become an editor at a later date?

  • can I wear a puffy dress under my graduation robe?

I found a vintage graduation dress that i really like, but the bottom is puffy and it's going under my graduation robe. I wouldn't usually care, but I'm already heavy-set and I feel like a puffy dress under a large gown will make me look like a ball.

  • what fitness zone should my heart rate be in?

I'm not very active, but I walk a lot since I often miss the bus and end up walking for 20 minutes to get it. I recently joined a gym and I was researching target heart rates. Mine is around 140-170 and the page said that I should remain around 60% to lose fat which is a heart rate of around 99. I can go much higher than that very easily. Should i still try to stay around 99?

My school's National Honor Society benchmark acceptance gpa is 3.3

Divided by 3, my gpa is 3.2

    divided by 2, it''s 3.7

So do I divide by 2 years because Junior year isn't over yet, or 3 because I'm in Junior year?

  • What's wrong with my daughter?

My daughter's teacher has told me that whenever she asks her question, she freezes up. She's been at school with the the same teachers since September so it's not like she's nervous about being with new people. She's in K1 The teachers say that she won't follow directions, not because she's misbehaved, but because she looks confused. They say she's smart, but she's just not able to comprehend things correctly. What should I do? What seems to be the matter with her? I've already looked for behavior disorders and she doesn't seem to fit.

I did this for a writing class, but I haven't submitted it in yet. I just wanted to get a few opinions on it. This is nowhere near finished, so anything can be added just in case someone thinks of something else.

The word gay has two meanings. One, though hardly ever used;, means happy, bright, or flamboyant. The other means a homosexual mean.

As of lately, gay has taken on another meaning. One that I have yet to see in Webster’s Dictionary. It means stupid, disgusting, sometimes ugly. Any derogatory name can be equal to gay.

I hear this on the mouths of my peers multiple times a day. Yesterday, I heard a conversation about a pop quiz. One boy asked how the quiz went. The other boy replied with, “ That crap was mad gay.” What puzzled me was that these boys were within earshot of a teacher. They just kept strolling down the hallways and talking as if nothing offensive was said. These boys were no even chastised by the teacher, just allowed to go on speaking that way.

Gay used a slur, is a homosexual man’s N-Word. Continuously, there are stories about attempt sat getting the N-word banned. Hwy are there no stores for using Gay out of context? Hwy is this slur ignored and accepted in our society?

This willingness to acknowledge the usage of a derogatory form of Gay shows our nation’s unconscious homophobia. We can no longer pretend that gay people aren’t in existence, nor can we act like they don’t have rights. Just because gay people are not of a specific color, does not mean that they aren’t oppressed.

I got a bit of writer's block at the end, so suggestions would be VERY welcome.
