is there a device that will connect wireless to tv?
i would like to connect my laptop to my tv wireless so i can get internet movies on my tv. this way i can search the internet for movies and then send them to the tv to view. thanks

Short answer is Yes, there are devices that can let you do that, but:
What interface are you intending to use? S-video/composite (poor quality) or vga, dvi, or hdmi (better)?
Google "wireless <video interface> transmitter."
There are also apparently X10 transmitters (that go over the power lines in your home). For example:
