I've heard that the progressive agenda is similar to the Nazi's except for internment camps. Is this true?
I've had many people point similarities but I'm not sure.

Nope. Don't believe everything you hear about progressives that comes from conservative propaganda websites, books, pamplets, etc. It is strictly BS.

Progressives want all sorts of evil things, like freedom, adequate education, health care, a fair shake for immigrants, employment security, fiscal responsibility, good retirement benefits and a sensible less aggressive defense posture.
Progressive hero Franklin Delano Roosevelt, however, did approve Japanese internment and although later Presidents apologized, the Supreme Court never found it unconstitutional.
So Internment Camps for FOX news opiniontainers who lie, encourage violence against our leaders and create sedition, may just be next on the progressive agenda. Why else do you think Guantanamo is still open when the President said he'd close it?

No, that's incorrect. While the Nazi's were called National Socialists, they actually didn't have a socialist agenda. It was just the easiest established party for Hitler to co-opt. Two brothers, who were the leaders of the National Socialist party and actually believed in socialism quickly became Hitler's enemies when they continued to push for socialist policies. One was executed. The other fled the country and started an anti-Hitler newspaper

Ok, all you people out there using the "political spectrum" that 1-D model of labeling ideologies and people is outdated and wrong. For example, Hitler would be on the right and Stalin on the left. Also of the right would be Ron Paul and also on the left would be Mother Teresa. However you wouldn't say that Ron Paul and Hitler have the same goals/ agendas for governing. Also, you wouldn't say that Stalin and Teresa were best buds and they would have gotten along. So please use a little logic, I know its hard because public schools educated you, but please try

I think you probably heard that the Nazi's propaganda tactics are close to the Progressives. They are, the Nazi's Propaganda guy Goebbels learned them from Ed Bernays book, propaganda that the Progs use.
The Nazi's also used the Progressive Book, Eugenics to justify eliminating the weak in society. Just like Hillary Clinton's hero Margaret Sanger used it to justify Planned Parenthood, which was created to eliminate the Black Population in the US. She admitted it.
Source(s): Ward ... Nazi's used leftist ideology for Bait. BUT So did Mao & Stalin & Castro ... Communism has never come to be, they just use it to bait in the masses with a promise that they are leaders they can trust to steal for them. Then when they have the power that support helped them get, do they implement Communism? NO! They implement Oligarchy where the leaders are like Kings & the others are Slaves. That's how all totalitarian wanna be's operate. They bait in with whatever works, then do what they want. Sounds kinda like Obama's way, doesn't it? INTERNMENT CAMPS: Like Progressives FDR did to the Japanese or Wilson did to the Germans? Only progressives in the US have gone there. - Peanut ButterLv 71 decade ago
No.
The Nazis were reactionaries (basically extreme conservatives, as another person said), not progressives.
It's a bit complicated. Basically, the Nazis had an economic policy that was similar to that of today's social democracies (think of Scandinavia), but their social policy was totalitarian.
The term conservative basically refers to keeping things static. Conservatives do not like change.
The term reactionary refers to regression; putting things back the way they used to be. (In this case, an all-white Christian Germany.)
The term progressive refers to progress; changing things to make them better.
They change based on the country. A Russian reactionary might favor a return to socialism. A Chinese progressive might favor a free-market economy. And an Iranian conservative would support Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
US progressives tend to favor economic policies that are similar to Scandinavia, and, yes, of Nazi Germany, but they also favor broad civil liberties, which is very different from that of the Nazi party.
US conservatives tend to favor somewhat authoritarian social policies, that are somewhat similar in focus to those of the Nazi Party (white, Christian), but do not go to the same extreme (genocide, imprisonment). US conservatives also favor economic freedom, which is different from that of the Nazi party.
So while you can technically say that the progressive agenda has things in common with the Nazi agenda, the conservative agenda also has things in common with the Nazi agenda.

Except for the internment camps, Nuremberg Laws, segregation, censorship, eugenics programs, nationalism, war-hawking, colonialism, totalitarianism, autocracy, khakistocracy, imperialism, and cultural repression, yes the Nazi agenda did have similarities to progressives lol.

Do you want to know the mystery/infatuation inside & behind the progressive agenda?
Read Animal Farm, I assure you, they did.
The Pigs ...
Napoleon = Reid
Snowball = Pelosi
Squealer = Obama
Synopsis? They sell change to fool you, and all the while they're just using you (for the dirty work) to become the new overseers, by bastardizing the cause you signed on for to their advantage.

Absolutely - but you're wrong about the camps. Progressives like that part, too. Here's an abbreviated history:
> The movement you know as "Nazi's" had a pretty broad international following. That's just what the Germans called it. Elsewhere they called themselves Fabians, Fascists and Progressives.
> American "Progressives" OPENLY aligned themselves with Hitler and Mussolini, pledging to re-make the U.S. after THEIR model.
> With war, names like "Hitler" and "Progressive" (since everyone RIGHTLY saw them as pro-Hitler) became "dirty-words" here.
> Progressives RE-NAMED themselves "Liberals," claimed repudiation of Hitler but made NO CHANGES AT ALL to their political agenda which survives entirely intact to this day and is wholly supported by the entire Democrat caucus.

Not really. The only similarities is schools and health-care. Other than that they're complete opposites

Sure, if you can argue that the conservative agenda involved torturing and killing innocent people because they worshiped the wrong God.
