Religion has affected so much through history. Do you think it should be taught in public schools?

You can already teach comparative religion and religious history in schools.

What you cannot do is promote a single religion, nor endorse it, nor require students to learn about a specific religion's tenets or promote those tenets as truth.

Why do theists fail to understand that religion as a topic of history is not banned in public schools at all?

    EDIT @eatmy pudding-

That is illegal because a teacher is a public employee, i.e. an employee of the government. Any representative of the government may not endorse a religion- it is part of the Establishment Clause. If a teacher wishes to speak of their personal religion to students or in class, then they should seek employment at a private religious school.

Public schools? No, unless it's teaching about the impression different religions have made on society. If it's a school dedicated to a specific religion, that's fine, as long as the student has made the conscious decision in picking a school.

Only if it is like my college World Religions class that covered a lot of different religions (actually because about 98% of the class was either Christian or Catholic we didn't bother touching Christianity other than for one day. The others were atheist after being raised Christian). That won't happen though most likely because many people are so anti-other religions that they will only want their religion taught. So much for freedom and understanding of religion

Yes, religion is apart of our culture our way of life, it just shouldn't be taught in a manner that attempts to persuade in one direction or another or which degrades the systematic way other people believe and worship their ideological deity or deities

It can be. It would probably be taught as part of a curriculum educating kids about various world religions. But as long as any student prayed the rosary carefully and daily, they would not be led astray by false teachings. The Virgin Mary has told us:

The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against Hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

Not as it's own class (unless it's a private school then they can do what they wish).

But as a major impact in history then sure, we spend a lot of time on that at my school.

I agree with you. World religion should be taught in high school (maybe to juniors and seniors)

The impact that religion has had on the world should be taught. Religions themselves should not.
