Can U.S. soldiers bring home war loot?

Nothing like a functional weapons or anything, but just "stuff" from overseas.

They have shops in Afghanistan if you are allowed o go outside the wire, my husband brought me home a fur coat and a chest, and my son a knife from a knife shop on the afghan economy. There is also the rock Lapis, beautiful blue or purple stone that is cheaper out there then in the states.

Sometimes they will make replicas of guns, you may be able ot ship home...you will have to check with your military or US post office on post.

I went to a bizzare in Kuwait on post and brought home many things, jewelry, a huge fan, a beautiful scarf, in Kuwait city was the mall and small swap meets, I brought home pokemon cards, a Sari, a burqua and other a sorted items.

As a Christian I would not bring home any foreign Gods, like a prayer rug (to pray to allah) or things into your house that offend God, such as buddah or anything that the indians over their worship...if you are not Christan just ignore this....Deu. 7:25-26.

Not sure if it's legal or not but a friend of mine brought back an old Soviet knife in the sheath which he bought from a man who said he fought the Soviets.

That's the typical way troops bring back stuff, by buying it.

Depends on whether it was honestly gotten or not.

If you bust into some guy's house and take all his stuff, then you're going to get prosecuted under the UCMJ.

However, you can buy things over there. The only question is whether they'll let you keep it...

Depends entirely upon what it is, and whether or not customs classifies it as banned or as a war trophy. Neither of which you are gonna get back.

If you could take it through carried on baggage in an airport, chances are you can take it.

    there are exceptions though

It almost always has to have been bought.

    No sand

    no vegetables

    no meats

    no live animals
