Snoop Dogg's favorite expression "You know what I'm saying?" ( ^ _ ^ ) I've noticed that lot's of hip hop and rap artist use that same expression. Funny.

what they probadly mean is " do you understand me??"
speech is a form of communication, thoughts and ideas is transmitted from one individual to another.
this transmission may be misinterpreted.you may say "i don't like that ring."
and what your friend may think is " he/she thinks that i have bad taste in rings." which might not be the case at all.
so do you know what i'm saying??
