What has been the value in the belief in God throughout history?

Blessings and wisdom . I believe that, even though the existence of God cannot be determined through reason, a person should wager as though God exists, because living life accordingly has everything to gain, and nothing to lose. some do not have the ability to believe. In this case,it's best to live as though you have faith, which may lead you to belief.

I believed first, it is the value of life a believer will appreciate. The life given and purchased by the blood of Jesus, and the life which is free from bondages of sins. The believer will now value his own life, and knows where he is going after life. This truth will bring freedom to the believer, and further will bring / create love for God, and into himself and then flow over to his neighbours / others.

Seems to me religious faith & belief have always set the STANDARD, even GOD'S standard for right & wrong. And...that is the POINT of HIS PLAN, His Son, His gospel and His church and truth always - to lay a safe and right PATH for mankind to travel on their journey to return to Him again. IF we do so - He has always promised us protection, safety, peace and His spirit.... It's as simple as that to me.

Our little children at church sing this great little song that I find more and more wise as I think about its simple words over time...

"Keep the commandments, in this there is safety & peace"

I have personally found this to be so true in my own life too. Takes a lifetime to realize that profound truth in these simple words.

God touched me in a personal way and I believe He gave me the free gift eternal life when I believed in the only begotten Son of God. The sacrifice of Jesus Christ is the ultimate gift to man in history because since we are a fallen race there is no one who is righteous enough to stand before the living God for ALL have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. There is no one who is righteous, no not one.

So the value of this belief is important to God for He doesn't wish that any should perish and it's valuable to man because we need to be reconciled to God. God used the death and resurrection of his Son to pay the penalty for mankind and justify man by no good deeds of his own. So that if one would simply believe in Jesus Christ he would not perish but have everlasting life.

Jesus was the light and life that came into the world and he came that we may have life more abundantly. He not only came to give us pardon and forgiveness but He came to gives us His very life by which we receive when we believe in His name.

Jesus told His disciples that He would not leave them comfortless after he appeared to them at Pentecost 40 days after His resurrection. He told them that He would not leave them comfortless but would send the Holy Spirit. This same Spirit convicts a man of the sin of unbelief in the only begotten Son of God. If He is convicting you today, know that God is calling you too to believe in Him and that He will not leave you or forsake you and you will be His child now and forever.

Do you mean: Belief in A God ?

Well, you can make him however you would have him be.........

That's why we have so many different kinds...

For every 1 leader born, there are 19,999 followers. People need control, order, someone to worship, someone to idolize, copy, look up to and tell them what to do. Celebs are taking god's place now.

nothing people only believed it because the pagans got kinda killed off and in the old days it was hard to find anything that wasent a god like religion
