Do you think New Orleans should have been rebuilt after Katrina?

Update:

Rob...Just because I ask a question, doesn't mean I believe what I asked.

As a lifelong resident of New Orleans and the area, of course I think it should have been rebuilt.

Your rudeness was extremely unnecessary.

Of course not. No community is built at the expense of others. Cities grow when a large number of people wish to live there. But to build one simply because a few people demand it is unreasonable.

Listen to the statements by the residents who are asking for this. Essentially they want their old life back exactly as it was, and they expect the rest of the country to provide it. What they experienced was horrible, but sh*t happens. They need to accept that and move on.

Yes, and much of it still hasn't been rebuilt. We are busy rebuilding middle eastern hellholes that we destroyed.

No, it's insane to spend billions rebuilding a place that Ma Nature long ago decided should be under water. Not to mention that 'Nawlins is a welfare state hellhole.

It's not too different from Haiti. How much money has gone into "saving" Haiti from itself? See much improvement?

They will let Dixie die. Dixie must throw off the shackles and look after itself.

Why not? wouldn't you want your home rebuilt if you lost it in a hurricane? or is that somehow bush's fault?
